Luka Doncic admits something about the Los Angeles Lakers that he didn't believe when he was a member of the Dallas Mavericks.

The Lakers and Warriors have been rolling and are moving up the NBA power rankings with just about one month left in the 2024-25 season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers trailed the Boston Celtics by 22 points with 7:12 left in the first quarter – and came back to win, 123-116, at TD Garden. They also left no doubt who should be atop the Arizona Republic’s latest power rankings.

As the calendar flips to March, the NBA is in the home stretch of its 2024-25 regular season. All 30 teams will have a jam-packed schedule the rest of the way with just six weeks left. Per usual, there are plenty of tight races with playoff seeding sans both conferences' top spot.

Dončić continued to torch the Clippers, going for 29 points Sunday as the Lakers remained the NBA's hottest team.

That has made the fan base somewhat conspiracy-minded. A notable theory that has sprung up amongst that fanbase in recent years is that opponents are so determined to beat them that injured players intentionally target Laker games for their returns.
