Escarra has no big-league service time and turns 30 in April, but the Hialeah, Fla., product impressed the Yankees last season hitting .302 with eight homers and 34 RBI playing 125 Double-A and Triple-A games and again in the offseason batting .363 in 35 Dominican Winter League games. He’s 1-for-6 in his first three Grapefruit League games.
