In the days following the D-Day landings, men of the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment advanced with fixed bayonets near Cauquigny, pushing toward Amfreville. Among them were Captain Miller, the Regimental Adjutant, and Captain Brackonecke, seen here in this rare footage. Just a day earlier, on June 9, Brackonecke had followed Lt. Col.
