It can be easy to overlook that Denji is a 16 year old kid getting groomed by an older person, and that his background leaves him super susceptible to that sort of thing. There's that one Omake with young Denji and Pochita putting sugar into wheat-water mix and pretending its cake. It goes to show while Denji is a badass, he is also a victim.
