I personally think of the death devil as completely opposite compared to the other horsemen. Humans can avoid most of the many fears presented as devils in CSM, but one thing no human can avoid is death.

Please, Fujimoto would have made it extremely apparent if the Death devil, one of the most powerful devils that sure couldn't have died, since the Darkness devil was still in hell, and almost everyone fears death, so it'd be one of, if not the Most Powerful Devil in csm.

The death hand sign thing (even if not 100% accurate) seems deliberate on Fujimoto’s part. Perhaps he has some other relationship to the Death Devil, like a contract. He even name drops it in the aquarium chapter. However, the evidence you present is solidly against him being the Death Devil itself.

Oct 13, 2022 · You also have to realize that the death devil is a primordial and a horsemen (like makima, the horsemen of death) And all of the horsemen were fighting pochita (makima confirmed at chapter 87) and ALL of the weapon devils and they can barely even kill pochita (this happened before denji discovered pochita wounded)
