Nov 2, 2023 · Roku TVs prefer Wi-fi remotes (something no DIRECTV remote can do) but they should respond to the appropriate IR code set. There may also be an option to use CEC and not have to fuss with programming the remote (other than to turn the TV off).

Aug 29, 2020 · The code to control a current TCL Roku TV using a Directv remote is 10463. It would not work with the old remote mentioned above but does work with an RC66RX I moved from another room. I had tried this code before and thought it didn't work. It turns out this controls just about everything EXCEPT the volume.

When using the Power button in a mode other than DirecTV, it will first notify you that you are not in DirecTV mode and then the next press will issue the Power command to the TV. Cannot speak to your specific situation, but you'll probably be better served by buying and installing a specific streaming device like a Roku, Apple TV, etc. Many TV apps get infrequent updates as the set ages and are not as snappy as a dedicated streaming device.

Jun 22, 2018 · Not being able to change TV inputs is not a problem (or a bug), it is a feature. What is described is the documented way of turning off the feature. The feature is there for customers who do not want the input on their TV to be changed. (Leave the TV input set to DISH and let the DISH receiver control what is seen on the screen.)
