The Cholistan Desert (Urdu: صحرائے چولستان; Punjabi: چولستان روہی), also locally known as Rohi (روہی), [1] is a desert in the southern part of Pakistani Punjab that forms part of the Greater Thar Desert, [2] which extends to Sindh province and the Indian state of Rajasthan.

Rohri (Sindhi: روهڙي; Urdu: روہڑی) is a city of Sukkur District, Sindh province, Pakistan. It is located on the east bank of the Indus River, located directly across from Sukkur, the third largest city in Sindh. Rohri town is the administrative headquarters of Rohri Taluka, and tehsil of Sukkur District with which it forms a metropolitan area. [2]

Farther east the Rohi, or Cholistan, is a barren desert tract, bounded on the north and west by the Hakra depression with mound ruins of old settlements along its high banks; it is still inhabited by nomads.

The Cholistan Desert also known as Rohi exists in Punjab and is privileged as the largest desert of the Indian continent. Desert is spreaded over 10,000 square miles and located 20 miles from Bahawalpur city.
