Jan 12, 2012 · I'm going to put one behind my stock 350 in a 55 Chevy half ton. I think they used the 3500 in all the half tons whether it be a small block or V6 starting in the late 80's. 3/4 and 1 tons use the indestructable nv4500 that all the off roaders look for. I think it should work fine. Pretty steep first gear if I remember correctly.

Aug 17, 2006 · some half ton chevy's actually came with the 4.3 and a new venture 3500. So if GM put that drivetrain in a big truck, i'm sure it is plenty strong in an s-10. I offroaded my s-10 stock many times and the transmission was great. I had no problems and still don't.

Oct 16, 2005 · S/10 NV3500 has the same output shaft as a TH350 UNLESS you have a fullsize truck nv3500. In which case the yoke would be the same as a TH400. Theres no way you got a 400 type yoke in a 350 even with vaseline. good luck and remember to get all GM parts next time.

Jan 25, 2017 · The NV3500 is not worth your time because the bellhousing is integral with the trans and it will require beating your floorboards a lot to make it fit. Your best option is a T5 from an 83-93 F-body. The 'World Class' versions introduced around 1987 withstand more torque.

Aug 4, 2016 · If you are converting from a TH350 it will be quite a ways back from where it was. I converted from a 700R4 and still had to move it back some. I used the same mount on the NV3500 that was on my 700R4 and that mount came off my TH350 when I did that swap.
