Menards keeps expanding into areas that Home Depot is in - and Lowe's used to be in the northern areas but withdrew years ago. Logistics matter. Big time. I have no idea how your comments about stores having a similar layout is relevant. All retailers do this.

The last time I looked at one with what the total costs would be, it was about 3X what the kit was. That was about 5yrs ago, but the ratios should be similar. There can be a lot of hard costs based on site conditions and utility availability.

That said, we have shopped for tools/supplies mostly at Menards due to the 11% rebate. However, we have bought a lot of items like light fixtures, toilets, tile, hardware at Home Depot. Customer service is also great at Home Depot. They match Menards 11% rebate and we felt they had a better selection/higher quality than Menards.

Im looking online at online only deals, and almost all items priced there, looks to end with 99cents, which is pretty odd cause you would think with a 11% rebate you would have very different cent values on products.

Apr 7, 2020 · I compared prices and Menards lumber is a cheaper(and more variety) than Lowes and HD in my area , so that made up the difference in shipping and then some. Thanks to everyone for the input. I will update when I receive the shipment. Hopefully the order is accurate and the lumber is decent.

Sep 23, 2022 · I just received my lumber quote from a lumber yard and a lot of the prices are significantly higher than the big box stores. A good example is the 2x4x8 studs, homedepot is $3.58 per while the lumber yard is $6.29.

Menards views 11% as sale so if the item you want price matched is lower like... at the register price, Menards will still not match if the 11% even makes it a cent lower

Aug 21, 2023 · Actually, the 11% value gets put aside into a separate bank account for Menards. Then, whenever an 11% credit is issued through Rebate International, the value gets deducted. That way, Menards does not consider it profit.
