After being asked by remaining Beatles Ringo and Paul, as well as Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison, to create experimental mixes from the original masters for a Cirque du Soleil project, legendary Beatles producer Sir George Martin and his son Giles Martin used the entire Beatles archive to create LOVE.

On the DVD-Audio disc of this release the tracklisting is identical but tracks 20 and 21 are significantly longer than on the CD version (3:23 and 2:34, respectively, vs. 2:14 and 1:53 on the CD). The DVD soundtrack is available in LPCM Stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1, and DTS 5.1.
