Nevertheless, most of the X5460 that are sold on the internet (but not all) have already made these adaptations so that you do not have to physically modify neithr the cpu nor the mobo.

The best CPU that fits in that motherboard is a Core 2 Extreme QX9770 but I'm pretty sure that there is an LGA 771 Xeon CPU that is better then the core 2 extreme.
