Kuai Liang and Noob Saibot are the only klassic trilogy era-based fighters in MK11 who never have their past-selves appeared in its story mode. Kuai Liang's absence can be explained by him undergoing the cyborgization process when the other fighters were affected by the Timequake.

Kuai Liang took over the mantle in Mortal Kombat II (1993) and served as the franchise's main Sub-Zero up to Mortal Kombat 11 (2019). In Mortal Kombat 1 (2023), Bi-Han returns as Sub-Zero, while Kuai Liang becomes Scorpion.

Kuai Liang assumed the Sub-Zero name and went to Outworld to find his brother's killer. Meanwhile, the leadership of the Lin Kuei embarked on the Cyber Initiative, converting its members to cybernetic ninjas to increase their efficiency and remove their human imperfections.

Feb 17, 2025 · Kuai Liang, known as Tundra, became an assassin for the Lin Kuei after he and his brother were abducted by the clan. After the death of his brother Bi-Han, Kuai Liang assumed the mantle of Sub-Zero to honor his memory.
