Built between 1962 and 1971, The Ampeg BB-4 (Baby Bass) was a smaller and more portable option for upright players that allowed for amplification and, therefore, could be used on a wide range of stage sizes.

These Ampeg BB-4’s were a major building block in the transformation of the upright bass, and sport many unique design appointments that far exceed what you’d expect for the period they were built in.
