Got that on the A7s3 at a wedding yesterday once while shooting, once while reviewing footage. The video was recording and the file was not saved. Sony A7S3. Firmware ILCE-7SM3. Ver 2.00. Aug 25, 2022 · I got an a7siii because I like using the viewfinder sometimes in bright sunlight and didn’t necessarily need the extra video capabilities of the fx3. But I agree with commenters here that for the majority of users, for 100% video work the fx3 is likely the better choice unless you know for sure you’ll make use of the a7siii’s viewfinder a lot

One of the big selling points for the A7SIII is that it doesn't overheat on high-temp mode. The AI chip in some of the new bodies appears to affect power usage (and power = heat). Likewise, if they go up in res before process manufacturing technology has advanced enough, that may also increase heat generation.

Jul 12, 2022 · The a7siii is a video camera disguised as a hybrid. The a7iv is a true hybrid camera. I had the same predicament and wound up with an fx6 and an a7iv when I was upgrading the Sony ecosystem. The a7iv as an A camera wouldn’t be a great idea, but it’s workable and honestly the video is excellent quality.

The A7SIII can only use audio timecode and you lose the ability to use proper microphones (the mic jack or the MI shoe) The FX3 takes proper metadata timecode on the multiport so you can use the mic port/mi shoe / top handle for audio on all 4 channels.
