Oct 8, 2015 · The key to success in using the 6p15p, AKA SV83, is keeping screen grid fragility in mind. The DECWARE SE84 (schematic uploaded) illustrates how to do things. Notice that the screen grid is tied to the plate via a 1 Kohm resistor. BTW, sockets correctly wired for the 6p15p accept the 6BQ5/EL84/6p14p.

Aug 27, 2024 · Now I have built a breadboard of a similar amp but using the Russian GU-50 driven by a 6P15P. My version is again a parallel feed scheme with Musical Power Supplies OPT's and Lundahl plate chokes. Just got it wired today and some first testing steps.

Jan 10, 2008 · 6P15P is more linear version of 6P14P (EL84) made for video amplifiers. Slightly different construction, better grid alignment and more rugged fixation of grids. Also, a separate 3'd grid pin.

Dec 19, 2007 · I have a stereo P-P test amp using 4 X 6V6's that runs fine on the Allied transformer. It gets about as warm as the 6K56VG in my TubelabSE. It might get too hot on 50 Hz though.

Just thought I would mention I came across a deal on some Hammond 125DSE OPT's on Ebay I thought about using on this build but those Edcor OPT's sound and test really good at the power level of this amp.
