The Police Academy is 27 weeks long and includes more than 1,000 hours of instruction. Recruits are trained in the basic knowledge, skills and abilities required of a police officer, as well as advanced subjects such as tactics, use of firearms and emergency vehicle operations.

The North Las Vegas Police Department offers up to $40,000 in bonuses for existing police officers as lateral recruits, as well as lucrative hiring incentives for new entry-level officers looking to join NLVPD.

Positions are currently open for entry-level and lateral police officers, civilian crime scene analysts, dispatchers, corrections officers, law enforcement security technicians and more.
