Bismarck Speed - Naval History Forums
Nov 17, 2006 · In that same article Antonio Bonomi clearly states that Bismarck reduced her speed to 28 knots after the engagement. So, there is little doubt that Bismarck was very capable of reaching 29 and 30 knots as operational speeds. It is very clear, also, that Bismarck was one of the most modern and powerfull battleships of WWII, specially in 1941.

Mar 28, 2006 · Ok: One theory, in favor of Bismarck, came from the myths surrounding her and from books like the baron´s and others. The other theory came from positions like Jon Parshall´s Combined Fleet and such that state, without hesitation, that Bismarck was a mediocre Battleship.

Were all 3 ship classes (Gneisenau, Hipper and Bismarck) designed by the same person (or team)??? Like Hiraga, the Japanese ship designer, also many Japanese ships have striking similarities (Yamato and Yahagi bridges f.e.).
