Aug 30, 2024 · I am loading for a Tikka T3 chambered in 300 WSM. I am using AGD brass and I have bumped the brass 5 thousandths using a sinclair 35 degree bump gauge insert. This will be the 3rd or 4th firing on this brass. The issue that I'm running into is difficulty closing the bolt. I suspect the base of the brass is not being sized enough.

Jan 27, 2024 · I haven't tried grand in mine. I am running a 26" barrel with 200 gr Berger hybrids. I tried a couple ramshot powders and they both hit pressure fast before say like hodgdon powders. Also they all had low load density which I wasn't a fan of settled on H4831 running 2973 fps. Berger has lots of load data and replies fast. Good luck

Dec 8, 2021 · I have a 16 inch 300 wsm. I am launching the 180 gr barnes at 2950-3000 fps using rl26. Granted I'm hot rodding it at those speeds, but the brass is lasting still and it passed the rain test. Shot in a down pour on opening day and smoked a buck, no pressure issues lol. RL26 is king

Dec 27, 2024 · If I were to buy a 17, it would be a 17 WSM. I have a 17 rimfire but it's a Mach 2 and ammo is unavailable. The firearm is a Thompson Center Contender. I am going to rechamber it. A simple job. I am undecided. 17 WSM or 17-5.7x28 Wildcat. I am biased toward the wildcat because it's cheaper. I'm old and have time.

Jan 5, 2004 · 1. Actions are all the same length (3.4" with factory mags, 3.56" with aics conversions, there's some fringe stuff that will get you more). Short mags like the 270 wsm do really well in a tikka with the bolt stop modded (how I have mine set up). Prefits come shouldered or with a barrel nut.

If I need a reason it would be that the WSM gives more smoke flavor than my pellet pooper, or my lovely bride would just love smoked salmon cooked on the WSM and mothers day is fast approaching.:-D So my question is, does a WSM really give more smoke...

May 9, 2011 · I have a question for WSM 18.5 owners, using the IQ110. I’m curious as to how you position your vents. Especially the bottom one where the IQ bowl attaches and how much you open the top vent. I am also using an IQ on my 18.5 WSM. I close the bottom vent to where the daisy wheel touches the IQ toggle bolt and the top is about 3/4 of the way open.

I am having a fully chambered 7mm-300wsm being built and I want to neck down 300 wsm cases to 7mm (this is not just prepping 300 wsm brass to eventually fit a 7mm wsm). My usual new brass prep (not specifically in this order but...): Norma brass preferred, winchester as a last resort sinclair expander mandrel

Nov 28, 2014 · I am measuring the throat and seating my bullets 15/1000 off of the landes, not to exceed 2.965 [magazine limit]. The 270 WSM case holds more powder than a 45-70 and as much as a 300 WSM, so there is plenty of room for a longer bullet. There could potentially be an issue with powders with a higher volume per weight.
