Woahink Lake on Oregon's central coast offers some excellent fishing for yellow perch and seasonal catches of trout and several warmwater species.

Aug 1, 2018 · Located a few miles south of Florence, the 820-acre Woahink Lake is the largest of the three coastal freshwater lakes within the boundary of Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park. One of the deepest in Oregon, over 74 feet (23 meters) deep, Woahink Lake is a cryptodepression lake, extending 36 feet (11 meters) below sea level.

Large, open Woahink Lake is perfect for boating, picnicking and swimming along the sandy beach (no lifeguard). A picnic shelter is available for group reservation, and a meeting hall with lake views can accommodates up to 50 people. The park is located within a 47-mile stretch of dunes from Florence to Coos Bay.

Woahink Lake is a former estuary that has been blocked by sand dunes. The lake formed during a rise in sea level during deglaciation, when sand dunes were emplaced, blocking the flow of the lower reaches of several of Oregon's coastal rivers. [1]
