This tornado made its initial touchdown about 3 miles south-southwest of Wadena, MN around 5 pm CDT, and produced a continuous damage path through Wadena before lifting about 7 miles north-northeast of town by 518 pm CDT.

On June 17, 2010, a powerful storm system plowed into Minnesota, producing the largest tornado outbreak on record in the state, along with damaging thunderstorm winds, hail, and flooding rains. The tornadoes killed three people, injured many more, and produced extensive property damage.
The 4 total EF4 tornadoes across the Upper Midwest on June 17, 2010 (3 in MN, and 1 in ND) were the most in any outbreak in the U.S. since the “Super Tuesday Outbreak” on February 5-6, 2008.
