The United Paramount Network (UPN) was founded in 1994 and launched on January 16, 1995 as a joint venture between Chris-Craft's broadcasting division United Television (which operated the network) and Viacom (whose Paramount Television division supplied its programming).

On January 16, 1995, KTXA became an affiliate of the newly-launched UPN and branded itself as "UPN 21". Viacom purchased CBS in 2000, making channel 21 a sister station to its former rival KTVT, which CBS had purchased from Gaylord Broadcasting the previous year. In 2002, UPN introduced a new logo and KTXA accordingly received an updated logo.

This logo replaced the shapes with a modified design of Paramount's print mountain design, with the "UPN" text below, but now in the Paramount Peak Sans font, and its branding now matches the aesthetics used for sister streaming service Paramount+.

Starting February 8th, 2022, UPN leaked a new logo on their social media. It was later used around June 12th, As part of their summer 2022 campaign "Let's See The Trees Blowing!" Gretel designed the branding like how they did it with the sister network, That being CBS.
