The Tornado Intercept Vehicle 2 (TIV2) is a mobile tripod built for capturing close-range tornado footage. It features deployable wind flaps, anchoring spikes, and layered armor made of steel, Kevlar, polycarbonate, and aluminum.

The Tornado Intercept Vehicle 2 (TIV2) started as a Dodge Ram 3500 and was modified by IMAX filmmaker Sean Casey for the 2008-2011 seasons of Storm Chasers. It intercepted several tornadoes, including an EF-4 in Mississippi (2011) and an EF-3 in Kansas (2013).

The TIV 2 was designed to address the original TIV's problems, such as its low ground clearance, lack of four-wheel drive, and low top speed. It was based on a Dodge four-wheel drive 1 Ton truck frame that was strengthened and converted to a six-wheel drive by adding a third axle.
