Teddie Joe Neeley (born September 20, 1943) is an American singer, actor, musician, composer, and record producer. He is known for portraying the title role in the 1973 film adaptation of Jesus Christ Superstar , for which he was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards and has reprised numerous times.

May 23, 2007 · Ted Neeley was awe-inspiring! His vocalizations were remarkable. His "Get out get out!" at the end of The Temple scene shook the foundations of the building, as well as gave me goosebumps that have not yet subsided. His Gethsemane nearly brought down the house and drew a standing ovation from some members of the audience.

Mar 8, 2014 · Ted Neeley performance is the best. Ian Gillan is worth listening because of his glorious tone and voice range, but most of the time he sounds as he doesn't understand what he sings and as he have no idea of the plot... very weak interpretation and characterization, IMO.
