Strasburg #90 came from the Great Western RR. in Colorado, a line which hauled sugar beets, among other things. Black River & Western's #60 came from the same road. Ed K. cp Laurel Run

I picked up the April Road and Track magazine with the previously mentioned "road test" of Strasburg 2-10-0 #90 (ex-Great Western 90). The article can be viewed on-line here:

The second is what 90 looked like in 1968 when it first arrived at Strasburg (the picture is a fan trip on the CNJ north of Jim Thorpe, PA and the second engine is an ex-CPR pacific). Hopefully one of these days I will have a chance to photograph the 90 on the Strasburg with its smoke box shortened to its as-builit configuration.

Saturday, 3/27/21, Strasburg had 4-8-0 #475 on the 4 regular trains, while 2-10-0 #90 handled the "In the cab" assignment down at Leaman Place. #475 is seen approaching Paradise Lane, and then passing the SRR dead line.

Strasburg #90 is sporting new paint. Author: BKLJ611 Just a heads up, Strasburg 90 has been repainted into the old Strasburg paint scheme with the big red Strasburg oval on the tender.

The Strasburg Railroad cannot run passenger trains with only two operating steam locomotive available such as #89 and #475. #90 still in it's required 15 year boiler treatments. So the #31 restoration should be eventually completed if #90's out of service with only two steamers left even if you railfans don't care or lost hope.

Aug 2, 2021 · I realize there is not a strong O gauge/scale presence on here, but for those interested, Lionel is releasing an accurate brass hybrid O gauge model of Strasburg #90 in various paint schemes reflecting it's life on the GW and Strasburg. I'm an HO scaler, but my family are suckers for Strasburg, even though we aren't local to it anymore.

When 611 came to the Strasburg Rail Road in 2019, we did five days of filming... a wonderful visit! This recording was made on the first day as 2-10-0 #90 was running the daily excursion trains. The location for this recording is roughly halfway between Groundhog Cut and Paradise Lane.
