Jun 7, 2020 · The Spa Bar still operated sporadically when I visited last in 2014. I wonder if it still opens its doors today. I love the name–a sly reference to Zurich, Switzerland, which is internationally known for its many spas. What appears to be an old rural church–or was it a school, or both?–still stood, its gable front slowly coming apart.

It was just a seedy little country bar on the side of a long stretch of highway (US HWY 2) in the middle of VERY rural north central Montana (near Canadian border).

I was driving home yesterday after spending the weekend looking at our possible new city and some homes near it, and I saw the old Spa Bar coming up. I just had to stop.
