Jul 18, 2012 · Re: USB Headset Overrides Sound Card - Is There a Fix? Aha! I got it to work. I went through the Control Panel / Sounds and Audio Devices. I set the playback default device as the Audigy, and the recording default device as the Logitech USB headset. Now I get microphone input through the headset, with sound coming out the external speakers.

Dec 11, 2005 · I had gone into the so called windows mixer through the sound and audio link in the control panel and removed the mutes off of that and the sound blaster controls for the microphone. Still only heard others but now when I insert the microphone, I just get sound out of my speakers when I talk through it.

Jul 26, 2014 · The headphone/mic appears to be a standard 3.5mm jack model. The Creative Play is a USB sound card with 3.5mm inputs. However, the OP also noted both the front and rear panel 3.5mm ports are faulty. So another option would be to get an actual USB headset, as opposed to a USB soundcard.

Jan 17, 2012 · Your first pictures show Realtek AC97 onboard sound. Go to the Audio Tab of the Sound Properties and under Recording, what Device is selected? Take the drop down arrow and choose AC97. If you don't use your Creative Sound Blaster card you can either disable it in the Device Manager or remove it from the computer.
