Nov 16, 2021 · SMT V easy. SMT V simply has better gameplay, better music (subjective), open maps that eclipse the palace and the few dungeons that are there are good. Persona 5 only win in story and character, even if it does not exceed decency.

Jan 18, 2022 · I just beat SMT 5 tonight and I prefer 3 by quite a large margin. The dungeons are more fun, the story is stranger, and I enjoyed the combat more too. Both games are classics of the genre so you can't go wrong just don't be afraid to lower difficulty if you need to on some of the bosses. It made the game less annoying for me personally.

That being said, SMT V could've been gain amount of attentions like Persona 5 with amount of people talking about it if the characters, worldbuilding, and the plot are interesting after the first Da'at area. Hoping for a rerelease of the game for other platforms but I doubt the game will have a "Maniax" treatment. But who knows...

Actually, regarding other SMT protagonists' names, they do have some canon ones. For Nocturne, Demi-Fiend has two semi-official names that can be used, Naoki Kashima, which was used for the drama CD, and Shin Managi, which was used for a light novel, though the most commonly accepted used one is Naoki.

It also helped that Joker in Smash was revealed during The Game Awards, and Joker was incredibly broken in Smash. It used to be a running joke that most Persona 5 fans never actually played the game (which was a real phenomenon caused by Joker in Smash). Mainline SMT will likely never ever get that kind of exposure in the west.

In practice pleromas add so much damage to your build a typical MAG build can at best focus on two elements without losing up to 75% damage bonus. In my opinion only has an advantage over STR in the first 5-10 hours of gameplay.
