May 26, 2024 · This is such a great SAP appeal. Ultimately SAP appeals are very subjective since it depends entirely on the committee approving/denying them, but you hit every possible mark. You start out talking about how things were at the beginning, then go in depth as to why you performed poorly, then talked about the things you have done to take care of it.

SAP decisions are really up to the school entirely. Would I approve this as a financial aid counselor? Probably! But it also doesn't fall in the "traditional" SAP appeal categories that I see most likely to be approved (severe illness/medical issues, death of a relative, mental health issues documented by a counselor, etc).

Yo I just went through SAP appeal and got approved. Your reason is valid for SAP appeal. In my case I had financial hardship due to being unemployed. I submitted my documents to show proof of the statements I made in my SAP appeal. If you have documents backing up your statements, then you should be good.

Aug 5, 2021 · Iirc SAP is also regarding how much time you've spent to get your degree. If they detect you're going over a certain amount of hours they pull up this warning at the start of a semester. Imo it would be best to talk to an advisor about this extensively, as mine and my brother's sap situation were resolved thru an appeal after discussion

Feb 8, 2021 · I know lenders like sallie mae have private loans that don't require SAP (that's key because some do require SAP) but I would see if your school has a source that lists private lenders so you can do your own research cuz there are a few lenders out there and I personally believe you should have the right to choose from different options.
