Dec 14, 2021 · Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor has named River Dayi in the Hohoe Municipality of the Volta region as the cleanest in Ghana. The Minister made this observation during a working visit to the Volta and Oti Regions where he visited the area where River Dayi is situated.

May 4, 2023 · River Dayi lies in the catchment area of Hohoe in the Volta region of Ghana. Reports say the river got heavily polluted from siltation and other human activities.

River Dayi (a perennial water source) which drains the whole municipality together with other smaller ones make it possible for small irrigation especially for dry season cultivation of vegetables.

Hohoe (V/R), March 01, GNA – A project dubbed “Save River Dayi” has been launched in Hohoe to revive the River Dayi from becoming extinct. The River, located in the Hohoe Municipality takes its source from Lolobi in the Oti Region and flows through Hohoe town to Gbi Godenu.

The River Dayi is the second largest water resource in the District, and its basin provides a prime farming land for the cultivation of a variety of food crop and vegetables.
