Rapallo (US: / r ə ˈ p ɑː l oʊ / rə-PAH-loh, [3] Italian:, Ligurian: [ɾaˈpalːu]) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Genoa, in the Italian region of Liguria. As of 2017 it had 29,778 inhabitants. [ 2 ]

Rapallo was originally a traditional harbour town in the Liguria region, and is now the largest and most important seaside resort on the Mediterranean coast in north-west Italy. It is situated on the Gulf of Tigullio to the north-east of the Portofino peninsula.

Rapallo has been a well-known and popular tourist destination on the eastern Ligurian Riviera since the second half of the nineteenth century.
