If you only intend to use it to connect an internal HD to the PS2, I believe it will meet your expectations.

Aug 25, 2021 · I own the adapter. I just discovered a couple days ago that it works with PS2 cards (I was using it for PS1 cards). It uses the libusb-k driver iirc. I don't know if it works with images. The adapter is intended to get saves from your cards on to the PS3. The PS1 app for it on PC is GUI, dunno if there's something like that for PS2.

May 31, 2024 · So I ripped my ps2 down to the main board and tested continuity on the two fuses controlling the HDD reading abilities. The PS9 fuse showed good continuity and was giving the 5v to read the SSD, but the PS10 fuse had no continuity which is what gives it the 12v to read HDDs.

May 20, 2022 · I've chosen to give the MX4SIO adapter a chance as a potential alternative. I'm curious to see if the MX4SIO adapter will provide a viable solution to the HDD connectivity issue. Regarding your suggestion to check the fuses PS9 and PS10, I'll definitely look into that. I've now connected the Kaico SATA adapter to my main console, the SCPH-50004.
