Nov 14, 2016 · The first E6, No. 5075, emerged from the PRR Juniata Shops in Altoona in December 1910, closely followed by Nos. 89 and 1092. The latter was equipped with Young rotary piston valves in an effort to reduce fuel consumption, but it was discovered that complicated maintenance and high repair costs negated fuel savings, and the Young system was ...

Jan 2, 2008 · Chaps, Actually the Baldwin records of engines built new for the Pennsy tell us a lot about the PRR standard liveries from 1874 through to about 1929 including in the mid 20s a list of superior paint colours from specific brands recommended by the Pennsy.
Protecting the Accucraft PRR E6 roof hatch
Oct 16, 2017 · Thank god the dammage could be repaired and the paintwork was intact! So I decided to do something about it last evening and I copied the set up used on Accucraft's PRR T1 Duplex, basically a curved link (very reminiscent of an expansion link on a Walshaerts valve gear) a bracket and some special screws.
Looking for a good HO scale forum | G Scale Model Train Forum
Oct 11, 2011 · A while ago, kind of on a whim, I picked up an old Bowser PRR E6 Atlantic in HO scale. It needed some work. NOw six months later, I have a little collection of Bowser/PennLine PRR kit locos that I've built or rebuilt and restored. But nowhere to run them! Building a PRR 2-10-0 or Hyppo in 1/32 scale live steam...
Mar 8, 2024 · Two) The Pennsy is well represented in live steam passenger locomotives with the E6 Atlantic, the K4 pacific, the G5 ten wheeler and the T1 duplex. but we still don't have a true freight engine! "shorter" 1/32 Steam Locos? | G Scale Model Train Forum
Jan 27, 2016 · What is really missing is a good consolidation. The G5 by Bowande and the Casey Jones seem to really fill a void for locals and short passenger runs as will the PRR E6 by Accucraft and Jason. Also some real big freight haulers for long freight trains and for the roads that didn't beleive in articulateds. I guess it takes time.

Dec 21, 2016 · Rexcadral, that bright brass pipe and banjo fitting on the fireman's side of the E6 is very much a steam lubricator. This type system is the current standard that Accucraft has applied to their last two Gauge 1 models. My N&W J 611 has the same exact system and like the E6, it is not painted. Bummer.

Waddling Atlantic | G Scale Model Train Forum
Jul 14, 2009 · I recently bought two old non running Lionel Atlantics . One I turned into a consolidation, using an Aristo Mikado. The second I'm trying to make into a good runner. Following the tips on George Schreyer's site, I tied down the motor, shimmed the gearbox cover, added weight, and added 18...
