Mar 8, 2025 · First a correction: PRR 60 was a long way from Etna when stored all those years. The exact location was alongside the PRR Conemaugh Div. mainline at the plant of Chemline Corp., located between Harmarville and Springdale, at a location sometimes called Acme.

Feb 27, 2025 · Long-neglected PRR B6sa 0-6-0 60, first "saved" by the Wilmington & Western in 1983, begins the first step towards its future home in Lewes, Delaware, being moved on Thursday from a storage siding at Yorklyn on the Wilmington & Western to the railroad's Marshallton Shops for planned cosmetic restoration before movement to Lewes.

2 days ago · J1 2-10-4 1943 second batch of 60 J1 2-10-4 1943-1944 third batch of 40 I think another 24 J1s were scheduled to be built but were canceled in favor of the Q2 So the 1941 casting date could be from the prototype Q1, the T1. or the J1 first batch. FWIW. Doug vV

Mar 3, 2025 · First off, that was a B6sa, PRR #60, now in Hockessin, Delaware after being "rescued" by the Wilmington & Western via donation in late 1982. Second, it was not "found lying in the weeds." It had been shoved up underneath a highway overpass near the Pennsylvania Turnpike after its last owner/user basically shoved it back there and "abandoned" it.

Mar 8, 2025 · Three Cars, Lot #9613-010, PRR Class P85E: Ordered in April 1945 for SAL pool and delivered between January and April 1947 as 52 seat coaches. #4059 to PC #4059 to Amtrak #5281 (1974) reconfigured in 1974 to 60 seat coach #6069 retired and sold in 1981 to Northern Alabama RR Club, later (when??) to Rail-Sea Cruises.

Jul 27, 2021 · PRR 60 is in a sorry state. I’d love to see an organization restore her. I second LIRR 39. It’ll look great running to Paradise, and especially great at Leeman Junction under the PRR wire. Literally anything rotting away at Steamtown. Literally any of the surviving camelbacks would be fantastic to see in operation.

4 days ago · The root question here is; "Did PRR mainline steam locos have the pickup coils necessary to receive cab signals when moving in reverse?" All of which is academic, since any modern cab signal/PTC gear would likely be tiny relative to 1940s gear, one little box hidden somewhere would suffice for a replica loco.
