May 19, 2021 · Its not going to be cap problems. Maybe a logic gate failing or some type of liquid/moisture that sneaked in. These type of things are not easy to diagnose and repair on the bench honestly unless the conditions can be replicated while your working on it. Definitely worth opening up and taking a look at tho. The Sport trac pcm's are a bit pricey.
When doing an engine swap , do you have to have a matching ecu
Mar 19, 2019 · A Honda ECM - which you'll need to run the new engine - is not going to talk to your BCM. Even if you could get the thing plugged up correctly, which is going to require a ton of electrical work, compensation for missing or extra components, etc., you wouldn't be able to start the car unless the ECM and BCM can talk to each other and are ...
toyota - Installing a used ECM - Motor Vehicle Maintenance
Aug 22, 2012 · Oh, and in a 2003, I'd think it would be more of a PCM than an ECM. The difference can be a little fuzzy, but in my mind, if it's controlling the transmission shift points, or would be if the vehicle had an automatic transmission, it's a PCM. Hmm, looks like Toyota calls it an ECM though.

Mar 5, 2016 · With the PCM connected to the vehicle every critical signal that the PCM needs to start needs to be verified. I would start by verifying the communication lines from the DLC to the PCM have good continuity. Finally, the output signals need verified. Is the PCM trying to control the injectors or not.

Aug 23, 2016 · In short: It was the ECM/PCM. As much as I diagnosed the electrical circuits, I think I was just trying to overlook the elephant in the room (broken ECM) for fear of spending $$$. Based on the troubleshooting steps described in the Honda Civic Service guide, I convinced myself that clearly the ECM ALWAYS HAS TO GROUND PIN A14 (ECM connector A ...
What is the BCM (Body Control Module) in a car?
@Cullub two ways that can happen. 1, is no physical door lock control. If its only electric, and the bcm refuses to unlock, then you are stuck. 2, and I've had this happen on my old 99 Camry, is if the anti-theft is triggered due to the door lock being open without disarming and NOT from the key turning, like sticking a wire through the door sill/frame, it will immediately try to lock the ...
electronic control module - ECU tune file formats - Motor Vehicle ...
Jul 29, 2019 · You can read the files with just normal hex (hexadecimal) editors. When a tuner is modifying the contents they just search the hex for known patterns that are lookup tables. There are thousands of lookup tables such as throttle position vs rpm, coolant temp vs rpm etc etc. Typically for a stage one map you would change between 80-120.
