Nov 8, 2020 · The 901 required TAPE LOOP, is DH190's INPUT 4 (manual page 15), hook up your EQ there. p.s.: With INPUT 4, I was expecting to see a TAPE/MD/MONITOR button, but I don't see any, am stumped. If the DH190 doesn't work, you can do Preamp+Power Amp in lieu of a receiver and insert the EQ between the Pre and the Amp will work for sure.

Apr 16, 2010 · The 901 speaker system is in one word, outstanding. The little Bose cube speakers are what is over priced. Bose floor speakers, like your 901's, are excellent speakers and do not need marketing hype. The 901's are what got Bose where they are, not marketing. I tell you this from first hand experience.
Bose 901 speakers and new Harman Kardon receivers
Jan 26, 2014 · I'm looking at receivers and the Harman Kardon 3390 or 3490 seem the most appealing. These have the pre out/main in necessary for the 901's. Interestingly, Harman Kardon just announced two new, more digital-friendly, receivers - the 3700 and 3770. On these new receivers, it looks like the pre out/main in option has been eliminated.

Oct 24, 2014 · Initially using a Kenwood intergrated amp (Rated ~130 WPC) and a Dynaco equalizer (as well as the Bose EQ). That was plenty of power at darned loud levels. Jun 4, 2023 · They lasted about 10 seconds before smoke filled the room. This amp has two 30 amp twist lock power cords! The 901 speakers were cool in the day. My parents rented a flat to two SU grad students who had a pair with a Dyna Stereo 120 and to my 15 year old ears and eyes looked cool on their pedestals and sounded great.

Jun 15, 2007 · IIRC, the 901 EQ can be placed in the tape monitor circuit. It can also be connected between the pre-outs and the power-ins, if the receiver has them. I agree with Chris Wiggles that the 901's would not be *my* choice for HT. To get the sonic image to "lock-up" with the video image, I prefer a direct radiator.
