The good: beaches are great, relatively easy access to national parks eg. Depending on where you are the food is pretty good, and there's options for pubs/bars/cocktail spots. The bad: rent is high if you're willing to live at least an hour away from major employment hubs. Rent is astronomical if you want to live any closer.
