Jan 14, 2025 · For the record, I pulled the 9.2 board out of my Mister Pi, stuck it onto a De-10 nano, and fed it two sticks of SDRAM (3.0 in the primary, 2.5 in the secondary.) AvP and Trevor McFur still wouldn't show an image on the 11/18 core.

Apr 30, 2024 · The FPGA the MiSTer uses has an ARM core with no power management of any kind. This causes the FPGA to use quite a bit more power than it would otherwise and as a consequence it runs quite hot. The resulting handheld will likely require a a hefty battery or suffer poor battery life.

Apr 30, 2024 · Accuracy depends on the core, which is dependent on the work the goes into it — similar to software emulation. MiSTer is generally more accurate for older systems due to its standardized hardware and cycle accuracy. From a practical perspective, OG hardware, FPGA emulation, and software emulation are all "pretty close" though.

Dec 27, 2020 · I keep fb_terminal enabled because I like being able to use the linux command line on my MiSTer now and again for quick edits of config files, checking names of things, etc. I also like being able to see the lots of text in the expanded space of the framebuffer.
