Oct 16, 2024 · Off-season limited camping in the fall at Morefield Campground is in the Zuni Loop. It is the only camping option available Thursday, October 17 through October 30 before it closes for the winter. Camping fee is $20.00. For holders of the Senior Pass and or the Access Pass it is $10.00 per night.

Apr 14, 2024 · Campgrounds in Mesa Verde National Park: Morefield Campground. There is only one campground in Mesa Verde National Park, but it has everything you need. It’s also huge, rarely filling up, and conveniently located near the park entrance. Honestly, for a national park campground, it’s borderline fancy.

Due to the archaeological-artifact-rich nature of Mesa Verde National Park, backpacking is not allowed. There is, however, a 267-site (85 tent only; 15 RV only) campground. Morefield Campground, located 4 miles (6.4 km) inside Mesa Verde, is open April 26 – October 16 for the 2024 peak summer season.

Campgrounds Near Mesa Verde National Park. Despite the limited options for camping within the boundaries of Mesa Verde National Park, there are plenty of good campgrounds in the surrounding area. All of the campgrounds covered in this section are within 30-minute’s drive of the park entrance.

Jul 19, 2023 · Know where to camp: There are two camping locations available in Mesa Verde National Park – Morefield Campground and Chapin Mesa Campground. Morefield offers tent and RV camping with hookups, whereas Chapin Mesa is only for tent camping.

Size & Cost: 267 sites, $36 per site. Reservations: Privately managed, Reserve Online. Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, grills and picnic tables, dump station, showers, camp store. Demand: Low. Usage peaks in the busy summer season, but the high number of sites ensures that it rarely fills. Reservations are still a good idea.
