My 2000 Mercury Cougar has been stalling (especially in the morning after a few kms) and car dealership or garage do not know why. It usually happens in the morning and weather does not seem to influence the pattern. It has also happened in the afternoon when I was turning from the highway (80 km) to a side road.

hi im new to this. i got a 99 mercury cougar. 2.5 V6 DOHC. my speed sensor crapped out so i got a new one from Advance Auto Parts. Problem is the sensor they sent me is too big. It looks exactly like the stock sensor, even has the same plug but the diameter of the sensor is bigger than whats on the car. Are there 2 different size speed sensors?

Jan 23, 2007 · I have a 99 cougar auto that has typical symptoms of loss power when on 1/4 tank - uphill or quick corner movements. Posts have already listed Ford recall 04N02, I presume for Ford USA. I have purchased in Adelaide South Australia and have been advised that there hasn't been a recall with models imported to Aussie Land.
