Yep! I think its a mix of East Texas towns. Lufkin, Livingston, Corrigan and Jasper. I noticed in a couple episodes that the police officer uniform being worn is almost Identical to the City Of Lufkin P.D. uniforms. I know for the most part the show is not filmed in Texas but the references to East Texas are pretty spot on.

May 14, 2023 · Nacogdoches is a 5A high school. If Medford were real, in order to play Nac. in football, Medford would be a significant size city, 30,000-35,000. Just referring to the fictional town as existing in "East Texas" is erroneus. Any of the areas described on the show fall into "Deep East Texas." East Texas southernmost point is Cherokee County.

As someone from Beaumont texas and looking at the number on the bottom of Sheldon's phone beginning with 409 It's easy to say that "Medford" would be between Beaumont and Winnie As Galveston is about an hour out from Beaumont and Winnie is about 30 or so after the exit ro bolivar peninsula

May 6, 2023 · Ooh, can you please share? IMDB also says that Medford is along Route 59. I was convinced Medford was based on the town of Marshall, TX, as Marshall also has a tech college there. However, the weather map shows it west of Lufkin, which Route 59 runs through, so that theory is shot to bits.

May 7, 2024 · Lufkin, Texas is the actual town where Medford would be. It’s the seat of Angelina County, which is mentioned in an episode with a tornado. East Texas Tech is most likely modeled after Stephen F Austin University in Nacogdoches, about 25 miles east of Lufkin.

Medford is a fictional 2 hours from Houston, therefore East Texas Tech can't technically be in East Texas. It would be closer to Huntsville or Lufkin. East Texas would be the Tyler/Palestine area.

Jan 19, 2023 · Yup. There is a university called Texas Tech, but it's in the western part of Texas (which is the second biggest state) and is nowhere near Houston (which is the major city closest to the fictional Medford).
