Great trail culminating in a narrow section along the ridge line only ~6 feet wide in some spots; lots of shade and intermittent views of the ocean. As others have said, park at the Hau’ula Beach Park and walk to the trailhead, which adds ~1.3 miles to the RT distance.

Jun 17, 2017 · For anyone trying to decide between taking the Hau’ula Loop Trail or the Ma’akua Ridge Trail I highly recommend the former. The Hau’ula Loop Trail is in better shape, has better scenery, and some incredible views from its summit ridge.
