Black River Innovative Artist Residence, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes; specifically the city of Lorain was once a bustling ship building and steel manufacturing community.

The Summer Market is a beautiful and unique, outdoor festival held right along the Black River in Lorain, Ohio. Thousands of guests visit the Market each year to shop for furniture, architectural salvage, vintage finds, art & jewelry, coastal decor, fresh produce and a variety of other goods from more than 100 vendors.

Held on the First Friday of the month June through September from 5 – 9 pm in downtown Lorain in the Art Alley off 5th Street and Broadway. Each event will feature fire performances, visual art, comedy, live music, a pop-up art market, and performances – including those by local talent and community youth.
