Li Zongren (Chinese: 李宗仁; 13 August 1890 – 30 January 1969; also known as Li Tsung-jen), courtesy name Telin (Te-lin; 德鄰), was a prominent Chinese warlord based in Guangxi and Kuomintang (KMT) military commander during the Northern Expedition, Second Sino-Japanese War and Chinese Civil War.

Li Zongren was a Guangxi warlord who also was the Vice President of the Republic of China and Acting President of the same state. Li was born in Xixiang Village which is near the city of Guilin, Guangxi, China on August 13, 1890.

The New Guangxi clique (Chinese: 新桂系; pinyin: Xīn Guìxì), led by Li Zongren, Huang Shaohong, and Bai Chongxi, was a warlord clique during the Republic of China. After the founding of the Republic, Guangxi served as the base for one of the Old Guangxi clique, one of the most powerful warlord cliques of China.

Li Zongren was born to a teacher, Li Beiying, in Xixiang Village in Guangxi Province, China. He enrolled in the Guangxi Army Preparatory Academy in 1908, and joined the revolutionary cause in Oct 1910.
