The fact that the duo are the first to ski from the summit, and descended a nearly 7,000-vertical foot couloir, make it perhaps one of the most impressive ski descents of the past century.

Both Nelson and Morrison had previously summited Everest, as well as multiple other 8,000-meter peaks. As a team, they have completed ski descents of Denali, Cho Oyu, and Papsura, the "Peak of Evil".
