Lenox participated actively in the Revolutionary War. In 1774 Colonel Paterson already represented Lenox before the Royal Governor of Massachusetts. As Brigadier General he helped lead the way to victory in 1776.

The Lenox Visitor’s Center is located at 4 Housatonic St. and features exhibits on outdoor recreation, local cultural attractions, moving to Lenox and more. Local photographers Scott Barrow and Ed Acker both provided photographs as did the Lenox Library, Lenox Historical Society, Shakespeare and Company, The Mount and Ventfort Hall.
