The London and South Western Railway T9 class is a class of 66 4-4-0 steam locomotive designed for express passenger work by Dugald Drummond and introduced to services on the LSWR in 1899. One example has been preserved after British Railways ownership.

In March 1960 the locomotive hauled the last Passenger train between Newbury and Eastleigh. It was withdrawn from service at Exmouth shed at Exeter in 1961 but remained in capital stock. The following year it was restored at Eastleigh to run in LSWR green livery and numbered as 120 to work special trains and some normal services.

Four Years later, he would introduce his most famous design, the T9. This was a 52 ton 4-4-0 express locomotive with 6ft 7in driving wheels & a top speed exceeding 80 mph & were even recorded as reaching as fast as 90-95.

30120 was the last surviving locomotive of the class and in 1962 it was restored to LSWR livery as number 120 for working special passenger trains and has since been preserved. Several locomotives were converted to oil burning during the coal crisis after the Second World War.
