Feb 3, 2010 · Yes, much easier. The injectors on the LB7 are a pain to replace and very pricey to get done. Not like on the cummins, you pretty much have to take the heads off to get them out as far as i know. But, the LB7 does not have any emissions stuff, unless its a california LB7. I wouldn't trade my LB7 for anything though.

Jan 23, 2010 · The LLY's actually run a little better stock, but get a little worse mpg and will most likely overheat if worked hard. I've been able to get my LLY to run with the best of the LB7's so I don't think that's a factor.

Aug 30, 2009 · LB7 had internal injectors and a wastegated turbo lly went with the extrnal injectors vvt turbo bigger than the lb7 same as the rest, different heads glow plugs, lbz different timing, hp rating, mouthpiece, 6 speed trans, some internal changes as well, i dont know much about the lmm other rhan it has the dpf.

Differences between LB7 and LLY bottom end?
Dec 16, 2007 · It was Dave at BMS who checked for me, and he has LB7/LLY/LBZ rotating assy's there. I always thought the LB7 was the same. But it makes you wonder what year the swap was done. Maybe some LB7's ARE just like LLY's. I know for a fact the LLY is different than the 06+ trucks. You can see it the difference without taking apart the engine.

Aug 17, 2021 · I modified the LLY fuel lines to work on the LB7 FICM. I installed the glow plug system that comes with the LB7 harness. It was a work of art, y'all would have been SO impressed! I also took all the injectors to be tested & replaced four of them since they were questionable & the others had recently been replaced before the LLY had been removed.
