Here for sale is the Lab Series L7 4X10 made by Moog for Gibson during the Norlin Era. This amp delivers a very nice round and fat clean tone that not many other amps can achieve. There are also several different tone carving options at your disposal.

I've had a few amps, Alpha, Ameritron, Heathkit, etc.... and the Drake L7 is my favorite. Looks good, 1k with ease, very quiet and very affordable. I've bought and sold amps but this one I'm keeping, even if it see's very little use.

Designed in part by Bob Moog and Dan Pearce for Norlin and distributed by Gibson in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Lab Series L7 is truly a sleeper vintage amp. It'll do jazz (Allan Holdsworth used an L5), it'll do blues (BB King used L5s), it'll do rock (Ty Tabor used an L5 on the first few King's X records).

Nov 10, 2019 · According to LJM, +/-55V rail supply is allowed for the L7 amp. With thermal resistance junction-case of 0.83 W/°K, the L7 amp's heat sink is very critical and sufficient heat dissipation very difficult to accomplish for 50W and more into 4 Ohms.
