KCCR hosts research groups for diverse studies, advancing the health needs of Ghana and the globe at large.

KCCR is organised into multidisciplinary Research Groups addressing different Themes. Research Groups plan their own research strategy and are run by a Group Leader supported by Coordinators, Research Scientists, and Trainees.

To provide knowledge through high quality research which will benefit the global health community by improving the clinical management, control and prevention of infectious diseases, the quality of health service delivery, and ultimately health systems and health outcomes.

Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) is a Biomedical research institute located at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. It is a joint venture between the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg, Germany. [1] .

For 25 years, the BNITM, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana, and the Ghanaian Ministry of Health (MoH) have been running the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR), a research and training centre on the KNUST campus.

The Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) is an international platform for biomedical research. KCCR’s modus operandi is based on the close collaboration between KNUST School of Medical Sciences in Ghana, the Ministry of Health and the Bernhard-Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM) in Germany.

The Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR), Kumasi, the 2nd largest Research Centre in Ghana is 25 years old. This state-of-the art research facility, is situated on a 300sq meter plot of land on the South-End of Asuogya Road on KNUST Campus.
