I see by researching online that many audiophiles consider them to be highly desirable speakers & they seem to command pretty high prices in good condition.

Apr 9, 2005 · Through the years, various forum posts have mentioned the year of the model six's introduction as 1958, 1959 and 1960. I've just found a review of the six in 'Audio Magazine' from May, 1958 and they state the speaker was introduced in March of '58.

These are generally considered among the top handful of vintage speakers. They are a two way acoustic suspension model and a good example of the famous "New England Sound" of the early 60s to mid 70s, known for surprising bass reponse from smaller cabinets and a sweet midrange.

Aug 1, 2003 · I have a pair of KLH Six speakers, and my reaction to them was quite different to Prix's. I found them sort of big and exciting, but highly colored and ultimately fatiguing. So I guess your mileage may vary.
